The German Department of Transportation has urged automakers to update the engine management software of about 12 million diesel vehicles to reduce the nitrogen oxide emissions from the diesel engine, which is the warmth of the September 24 election.
As the public group in September 2015 was disclosed in the emission test cheating, the actual displacement of diesel vehicles is higher than the test data. The dangers of diesel vehicle emissions to public health have become a political issue. In April 2016, the major German car manufacturers spontaneously recalled 630,000 vehicles to repair their diesel fuel management software, but failed to make regulators and legislators believe that pollution has been brought under control.
Since then, a number of European cities, including Stuttgart and Munich, have begun to consider the ban on diesel vehicles, and accused the issue of emissions caused by increasingly serious respiratory diseases.
It is reported that this week legislators in the closed-door talks on the automotive industry once again put pressure. The Minister of Transport is discussing with the German automotive industry association VDA, VDIK and local government representatives on trying to reduce 25% nitrogen oxide pollution. Government news that the car update will cost 1.5 billion to 2.5 billion euros (11.48 billion to 19.14 billion yuan), the Minister of Transportation has made it clear that all meet the European standard 4, the European standard 5 and the European standard 6 cars are recalled.
According to government requirements, the cost will be borne by the automotive industry, and in September before the election of the automotive industry must submit a solution.
